Missionaries of the Poor - Holy Innocents Centre

On September 11, 2010 Missionaries of the Poor opened the Holy Innocents Crisis Centre for 200 distressed mothers and their babies. This was the Missionaries of the Poor's answer to to the Lord's call to protect lives. This centre provides support and assistance during pregnancy through prayer and spiritual support, temporary financial assistance, day care, and facilities for mothers and newborn.

The Holy Innocent Apostolate is a centre where the MOP sisters fulfill the Lord's work. They are very deeply in love with Lord and help the brothers to minister to women who are considering abortion and have no where to live . Women find it a place of refuge.

They also look after the elderly women who may have mental Illnesses or physical ailments along with children who have various disabilities and conditions.

A volunteers testimony;

As we entered the room we could hear the sisters singing as they performed their duties. Some sisters were bathing and clothing the children, mopping and cleaning the windows. We were asked to fold clothing, help with the mopping, clothe the children and feed the kids. It didn't matter how small or insignificant the duty felt the words of St Therese of Avila resonated in my mind..... 'It is love alone that gives worth to all things'.As we sat on the ground with the kids and sisters we were overcome with a deep love. To the MOP sisters each life matter - the abandoned, disabled, the abled, those who live in poverty, those who have wealth. EACH LIFE MATTERS!!! 

God doesn't see us how we see we ourselves. He values each person, each soul. And these sisters encompass that.
